The colour wheel is a tool, not a law.
We were taught that certain colours clash. That there are rules about what works and what doesn't. That the client's skin tone, eye colour, and lifestyle must all be factored into a formula that produces a predictable, safe result.
We threw that away a long time ago.
Colour, at its best, is emotional. It's the decision to make someone feel something — not just look a certain way. The unexpected combination that stops you in the street. The shade that shouldn't work but absolutely does because the person wearing it owns it completely.
This requires a different kind of consultation. Not a checklist, but a conversation about feeling. What do you want to project? What do you want to leave behind? What colour is your current chapter?
The answers to those questions lead to places the colour wheel never could.
